Praying Mantis & Prey

Tenodera angustipennis
JARED: Everett found this kamakiri (praying mantis) the wall of our apartment building. It is eating a koorogi (cricket) leg. It is giant! I give it 5 insect legs out of 6.

EVERETT: This kamakiri is dekai (huge)! It killed the koorogi. I like it!

Wow. You are good at taking pictures of insects. You should come to Australia some day. We have some good bugs - some can kill you though so be careful!

Hi Jared & Everett,
Your bug blog is great! I live in Canada and we don't have as many cool bugs as you...nothing too exotic. I love the pics and seeing how comfortable you both are with all these creatures.
Keep blogging!
Sue

Hi cool bugs but Im not really a bug person ewww but I have a bug, a very big bug I caught and don't know what to do with it? It has pinchers, head and body body is kinda milky white with black stripes going across it crossways, big eyes, long beatle like legs. I would say it is almost 2"long BIG BUG. It looks like a cross between a very large bumblebee and facial features of a praying mantis. The butt part looks just like a bee with a stinger shape and all. No wings but can run pretty fast. Never ever have I seen something like this before. I live in Pendleton oregon. What should I do with the little bugger. Thanks again Kim of2dance@hotmail.com
